Pros: Great picture and viewing angles! Internet....setup....EVERYTHING!
This is a great 3D TV at a great price. After tons of researching passive vs. active 3D types, I settle on this passive 3D TV. It is amazing. Standard HD picture is unreal and the 3D is very impressive whether watching Directv or a 3D Bluray. The internet is quite useful and really easy to set up. My only disappointment is that it didn't come with a QWERTY keyboard to make browsing quicker. If you are looking for a great 3D TV at a reasonable price get this one today. It took 3 weeks to be delivered, but the wait was well worth it. I couldn't find a passive with 240 htz refresh rate anywhere in stores, and no where online for near this price. My family and I are extremely satisfied with this purchase.
This is a very nice looking TV, with it's super thin profile, hidden buttons, polished frame, and clear edge trim. The picture quality is outstanding. It looks better than the Panasonic TH42-PX60U plasma I bought from BB in 2007. Granted, the plasma was only 720p, but the smoothness and contrast of this LG are at least as good if not better. I made slight color tweaks using the built-in picture adjustment wizard. I was amazed at the amount of light this thing can put out in a bright room. Turn out the lights and it's painful to look at! Fortunately eco-mode automatically dims the screen to match ambient lighting (it does a great job# and keeps me from having to scroll through picture presets. No blurring or jagginess in fast action scenes even with Tru-Motion #soap opera motion) turned completely off. Overall, picture quality is beyond excellent. 3D is not a huge deal to me, but it does look great on this screen, and I like that the glasses are so cheap. Sound quality is actually better than what I expected. We made due with built in sound for a month until I could pick out a sound bar, and the speakers performed well. The speakers are quite loud at 50% volume, but i never left them that high because they start to distort. They are fine for tv shows or watching a non-action movie, even in large rooms. The main remote is nice, well laid out like most LG remotes, and is backlit. SIMPLINK connects it to my LG Bluray player and everything works perfectly. The magic wand remote is a bit of a novelty and I don't think I'll get much use out of it, but no loss. I have a Logitech Harmony 650 that will be used to control everything anyway. I downloaded LGs Android remote application, but again it's a bit of a novelty. It's buggy, you have to re-pair every time you use it, and it has no QWERTY keyboard. LAME. There is no point other than showing off to your friends--which I do, of course. The wireless adapter is included and it works flawlessly. I plan to hardwire the TV to reclaim the USB port it occupies, and to see if I can reduce the amount of time it takes to launch an internet app after powering the TV on. Right now it takes 30-45 seconds before it's ready to go online. The apps that are available in the store are cheesy and I doubt I'll ever use them, but Netflix is flawless and we use the heck out of it. Inputs and connectors are plentiful, and there is provision to plug your component inputs through an included mini jack so that they don't interfere with a low profile wall mount. Optical audio out goes to my soundbar, and Audio Return Channel on HDMI #1 will send it back to a receiver, should I go that route in the future. I got this for $1039 plus tax in an online only sale. I couldn't be happier.

Got this as my first 3D TV to view 3D photos and 3D vacation videos...
The 240Hz picture is spooky good, If you have a high speed internet connection and Netflix, the streaming HD is better than I expected. Very happy with the set and hope to get a 60 inch version some day, but I think the 55 is the biggest out right now.

Pros: The entire television
This television is what I've been waiting for. I have checked out all of the 3D makers and thus far, this is my favorite. I liked Panasonic's 3D, but LG's passive glasses won me over. They make it so simple to view and use 3D. I didn't necessarily want a "smart" tv, but it has me hooked. The magic motion remote can with the tv and is so simple. It makes web browsing and using apps so easy and enjoyable. I only did a minor calibration on mine for now, but am waiting for the professional Geek Squad to come out and fine tune it. The picture is great, but will probably even better. I am a fan of passive 3D, and it hurts to look at anything else. And the sound is good for the built in speakers; gets loud without distortion.
