	"Better than in-store"
By DrewNY	Pros: Picture quality, simple menus, 2D-to-3D upscaling I did a whole lot of research online before pulling the trigger, but I went into my local store with the intent to buy a different television (a Sammi 47".) For once, I actually had a conversation with a Sales Rep who actually knew what he was talking about. He was VERY patient with me and, after realizing I too was technically savvy, explained the different inner workings of the various models and brands. I wasn't even considering LG until I learned about their motherboard and rendering technology. I then LEFT the store, did some more research from my tablet, went back in, and purchase this TV. Once I got it all set up, I have to say, even the wife is impressed with it. I did an internet search for "lg lw5600 calibration" and found some suggested calibration settings that make the picture miles better than the "Standard" out-of-the-box settings (which was already pretty good.) The quality is great. The Settings Menu is very simple and intuitive. The connections are easy and self-explanatory. The TV is fantastic. I did hook it up to an older soundbar that I had purchased for my old TV, and that makes a world of difference as this TV has awful speakers. The remote makes a lot of sense if you think like a tech who would've designed it. The 2D to 3D upscaling (ability to show a 2D program in 3D) is very impressive. It's one thing to watch an actual made-in-3D program, but for the TV to be able to take a 2D program and upscale it into 3D is impressive. This feature is MUCH better than expected and I find myself using it much more than I thought I would (I thought it'd be a nifty gimmick to show off to friends.) The ability to calibrate 3D settings to left eye/right eye, depth, and perspective are key as I have astigmatism and in the store, I noticed issues with the way it was set up there. Also, 3D works best when you are viewing at a line vertically perpendicular to the screen. From the side isn't an issue, but from above or below the center line can cause 3D "ghosting" or "echoing." I solved this by mounting the TV high like I prefer, but tilting it down towards the couch so that I my line of site is perpendicular to the screen. I have not yet played around with all the Apps, but they appear to be pretty much the same... Vudu, NetFlix, Hulu, etc... it's all pay-per-view content and they all pretty much carry the same movies for roughly the same price. So the more isn't really better here. The price was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but I do feel I got much more TV for the price than I would have with the other set I had been intent on purchasing. I've only had this TV up and running for a few days, so I am still worried about reliability. I paid handsomely for the 4 year warranty, and I hope I never have to use it, but we'll see.

By SEinOC	Pros: Fantastic App & Streaming Movie support + Great Picture We bought our LG about 3 months ago and it's been fantastic. The picture is very impressive. In particular the 3d and even the upscaling of 2D to 3D while not having as much "POP" the effect is really great. One of my family's favorite features though (not even listed on the description) is the support for Plex. Plex support means the set (once connected to your home network and with a computer on your network running the Plex media server software) the TV will find any movie content you have in the folders you configure the server to look at. Home movies, TV shows, or commercial releases are all available with pictures of the cover, movie poster & a filmography information is all made available automatically You can search by genre, title, or keyword. It's really fantastic. Couple that with Hulu +, Youtube and Netflix support and you barely have a need for cable there is so much great content to watch. The browser is quirky and not great for heavy web browsing but it's sufficient for light use. The App marketplace seems to have new content added regularly and quality of apps varies from really bad to good (nothing amazing but some good distractions) The remote is functional, the magic remote (think Wii remote with pointer functionality) is great for browsing and those times when you need to type onscreen. It has a good number of HDMI ports and the wireless is sufficient for streaming most movie content except for the highest 1080p which may judder a bit. I went with a wired connection and its flawless. The 3d Uses the same glasses you get at the theater so we now have about 20 of them from bringing them home with us from the show. So cheaper glasses, no batteries needed, no headaches from the flickering active shutter glasses and you can put your head at any angle and watch the set (unlike actives where you cannot lie down and watch) All in All I will and do highly recommend this TV. It's been fantastic. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

By Nick	Pros: easy to use Got the TV at Christmas. Love the HD picture, very clear. However, I've yet to view 3-D like I saw in the store on the same model. I purchased 4 3D movies which were rated high in 3D but didn't see anything in 3D. Called tech support to see if I was doing something wrong but I wasn't. Later found out (but not from tech support) that I needed a Hi-speed HDMI cable. Bought one,connected it correctly but still no 3D.

By baseballnut2	Pros: Picture quality I've had the LG5600 for a couple weeks. The picture was outstanding right out of the box and has required no adjustments. I bought a Sony Sound Bar because so many reviewers said the sound was lousy. For my viewing of news/sports the sound is fine. I only use the sound bar to listen to content with a lot of music. Don't buy a sound bar until you've listened to the tv in your home. The 3D picture is excellent but takes a lot of trial and error to engage. Overall, this is a great product at a very good price.

By Robin123	Pros: Works as advertised I had spent a good deal of time studying up on the Smart TV's and have so far been happy with this box. My internet connection is not very fast so I cannot judge the TV's performance from that standpoint. The "trick" 2d -> 3d TV that you can do with a network / cable broadcast is actually very good and we have fun with it. Overall I am happy with this TV.
